Requirements

  • 3–7 years of progressive experience in fraud investigations, financial crime, risk management, banking, financial services, fintech, wealth management, retirement services, or a related field.
  • Proven experience conducting complex investigations involving multiple data sources, linked accounts, and suspicious transaction patterns.
  • Strong understanding of fraud typologies, investigative methodologies, fraud detection techniques, and fraud risk management principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify emerging fraud patterns and translate analytical findings into practical business recommendations.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to manage high-risk or ambiguous situations independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting findings to senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality, accuracy, and confidentiality throughout the investigative process.
  • Experience using fraud monitoring platforms, case management systems, reporting tools, and investigative technologies.
  • Experience supporting fraud control enhancements, operational improvements, or investigative process optimization initiatives.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), or Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS) are considered an advantage.
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex fraud investigations involving multiple accounts, transactions, customers, and channels while ensuring timely and accurate case resolution.
  • Analyze suspicious activity, identify emerging fraud trends and typologies, and provide actionable recommendations to strengthen fraud prevention efforts.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of fraud incidents to identify control gaps and recommend process or policy improvements.
  • Utilize internal systems, reporting tools, and available data sources to investigate linked activities and detect fraudulent behavior.
  • Prepare comprehensive investigative reports, case documentation, and escalation materials that clearly communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Support high-priority fraud events by coordinating investigations and containment efforts across multiple stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with operational, compliance, legal, technology, and business teams to enhance investigative outcomes and fraud mitigation strategies.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of investigation methodologies, documentation standards, case management practices, and fraud control processes.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert by providing guidance, knowledge sharing, and support to colleagues and business partners.
  • Ensure the secure handling of confidential information while maintaining compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and data protection standards.
