Requirements
- Experience developing and owning shared back-end services used by other engineering teams.
- Expertise in building and shaping distributed systems in complex business domains.
- Advanced proficiency in software development.
- Proven leadership and mentoring experience with junior engineers.
- Ability to balance hands-on coding with strategic planning and project delivery.
- Demonstrable experience using AI tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) in daily development workflows.
- Confidence in challenging assumptions and cross-functional collaboration.
- Degree in physics, engineering, maths, computer science, or related field (bonus).
- Experience with Python, Django, or PostgreSQL (bonus).
- Experience with data analytics, machine learning, or complex event-sourced data models (bonus).
Responsibilities
- Lead the evolution of shared code, frameworks, and integrations for the Funnel Platform.
- Drive technical strategy and translate long-term vision into robust, maintainable systems.
- Manage and mentor a team of developers, overseeing their performance and career development.
- Own the team's roadmap and architectural health of shared services.
- Act as a hands-on contributor, leading by example in code quality, testing, and performance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to solve complex business domain problems and challenge assumptions.
