Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Mandatory experience working with HTML and CSS (nested lists, tables, and inline/block elements).
- Skilled with handling Python execution.
- Understanding of XML structure and usage.
- Experience using image editing and formatting techniques.
- Knowledge of HTML entities, mathematical notations, and Greek characters is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and solve complex problems independently.
- Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Experience with the Microsoft Office environment.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare science manuscripts in Microsoft Word, including converting from .doc to .docx and removing formatting errors.
- Convert .docx to HTML code using Python scripts.
- Transfer all manuscript text into digital publication tools to prepare for release.
- Add appropriate HTML and CSS tags to ensure articles display properly on the web.
- Prepare and format graphics used in manuscripts for proper web display.
- Cross-check author information, institution details, and references for accuracy.
- Manage character entities, including Greek characters, to ensure proper display.
- Format, validate, and correct XML versions of manuscripts for submission to PubMed Central.
