Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant analytic, intelligence, or threat-finance experience.
- Deep expertise in IRGC, IRGC-Qods Force, and Iranian sanctions evasion.
- Direct experience following Iranian crypto activity on-chain.
- Proven background in intelligence, sanctions, counter-threat-finance, or investigations.
- Strong grasp of Iranian geopolitics and regional financial flows.
- Excellent writing and communication skills for senior audiences.
- AI-forward mindset for building automation and scaling workflows.
- Comfort working with data and blockchain forensics.
- Farsi or Arabic language proficiency is a significant plus.
- Experience with OFAC sanctions or terror-finance designations is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own Iran attribution end to end, including threat-actor entities, accounts, and infrastructure.
- Lead the attribution response to Iran-related sanctions events and designations.
- Map and trace Iranian crypto networks on-chain across VASPs, mixers, and mining operations.
- Produce finished intelligence including advisory notes, briefings, and flagship publications.
- Represent Chainalysis as the named external expert on Iran crypto threats at conferences and with partners.
- Help set the Iran collection agenda and feed requirements into the team's prioritization.
- Translate identified threats into operational detection guidance.
- Design and tune AI-driven automation to scale analysis and improve team tradecraft.
