Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant analytic, intelligence, or threat-finance experience (8+ years for Staff level).
- Deep, demonstrable expertise in DPRK state-sponsored crypto operations (e.g., Lazarus Group) and/or Chinese-language money laundering.
- Proven on-chain tracing ability against DPRK/China targets.
- Background in national security or threat finance (e.g., IC, Treasury/OFAC, law enforcement, or private-sector CTF).
- Strong grasp of regional illicit-finance ecosystems and money-laundering flows.
- Excellent writing and communication skills for expert-level external representation.
- Ability to build and use AI-driven automation to scale work.
- Comfort working with data; blockchain forensics experience strongly preferred.
- Strong judgment, aptitude, and work ethic.
Responsibilities
- Own DPRK & China attribution end to end, including threat-actor entities, infrastructure, and associated laundering networks.
- Lead the attribution response to DPRK- and China-related sanctions events to drive rapid coverage in data.
- Map illicit networks on-chain, tracing stolen funds through mixers, cross-chain bridges, and OTC brokers.
- Produce finished intelligence including advisory notes, briefings, and publications.
- Act as the named external expert representing Chainalysis at conferences and with the press.
- Help set the DPRK & China collection agenda and feed requirements into the team's prioritization process.
- Translate identified typologies into operational guidance for products and customers.
- Design and tune AI-driven automation to scale analysis and handle complex cases.
