Requirements

  • 6+ years of progressively responsible experience in conference management, event production, or nonprofit events.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale conferences and national events.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience managing budgets, contracts, vendors, and complex event logistics.
  • Strong project management skills, including experience with platforms like Asana.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM/AMS platforms, and event registration systems.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment within the Continental US.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and evolving priorities simultaneously.
  • Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of national conferences, meetings, and engagement experiences including Annual National Conference and Capitol Hill Day.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and execution frameworks for event logistics, registration, housing, and AV.
  • Manage event budgets, negotiate contracts with vendors and venues, and execute RFP processes.
  • Develop and oversee event content across websites, apps, email campaigns, and program guides.
  • Coordinate sponsorship fulfillment and lead cross-functional planning teams.
  • Supervise event staff and external contractors while fostering collaboration across internal departments.
