Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Master's degree in Public Health, Student Affairs, Higher Education, Health Administration, or Counseling preferred.
  • Three years of professional experience in higher education, healthcare administration, public health, or student affairs.
  • Knowledge of healthcare systems required; experience with student health insurance administration preferred.
  • Experience managing health insurance, wellness programming, vendor relationships, or healthcare operations.
  • Knowledge of FERPA, HIPAA, and ADA preferred.
  • Demonstrated project management and operational leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with social media tools and online tools such as Box, Doodle Polls, and Coursedog.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team while exercising sound judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary university resource for student health services, health insurance, and wellness programming.
  • Provide consultation to students, faculty, and staff on insurance-related matters and healthcare vendor services.
  • Manage relationships with healthcare providers and insurance carriers to ensure access to robust primary and mental health care.
  • Administer the UC Student Health Insurance Plan (UC SHIP) including compliance monitoring, reporting, and data management.
  • Coordinate with students to ensure compliance with immunization and health-related enrollment requirements.
  • Develop internal student health communications, including digital and print resources.
  • Coordinate and evaluate campus health programs, workshops, and vaccination clinics.
  • Analyze utilization data and feedback to evaluate and improve wellness initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain departmental policies and operational guidelines.
