Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Master's degree in Public Health, Student Affairs, Higher Education, Health Administration, or Counseling preferred.
- Three years of professional experience in higher education, healthcare administration, public health, or student affairs.
- Knowledge of healthcare systems required; experience with student health insurance administration preferred.
- Experience managing health insurance, wellness programming, vendor relationships, or healthcare operations.
- Knowledge of FERPA, HIPAA, and ADA preferred.
- Demonstrated project management and operational leadership skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with social media tools and online tools such as Box, Doodle Polls, and Coursedog.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team while exercising sound judgment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary university resource for student health services, health insurance, and wellness programming.
- Provide consultation to students, faculty, and staff on insurance-related matters and healthcare vendor services.
- Manage relationships with healthcare providers and insurance carriers to ensure access to robust primary and mental health care.
- Administer the UC Student Health Insurance Plan (UC SHIP) including compliance monitoring, reporting, and data management.
- Coordinate with students to ensure compliance with immunization and health-related enrollment requirements.
- Develop internal student health communications, including digital and print resources.
- Coordinate and evaluate campus health programs, workshops, and vaccination clinics.
- Analyze utilization data and feedback to evaluate and improve wellness initiatives.
- Develop and maintain departmental policies and operational guidelines.
