Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in health or public policy, science, political science, or related field.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in government relations, advocacy, or health/science policy.
- Strong understanding of federal legislative and regulatory processes (e.g., U.S. Congress, HHS, FDA, NIH).
- Excellent research and analysis skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Superb verbal and written communication abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with physicians, researchers, and policymakers.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Ability to travel to the metro DC area for in-person events.
- Ability to travel occasionally to Illinois.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze federal legislative, regulatory, and agency developments.
- Translate complex policy information into clear summaries, reports, and communications.
- Lead Government Relations communications, including newsletters and web content.
- Support engagement with congressional offices, federal agencies, and partner organizations.
- Prepare briefing materials, testimony, and talking points for advocacy efforts.
- Serve as staff liaison for the Government Relations Committee.
- Manage department workflows, project timelines, and internal reporting.
