Requirements

  • Minimum 7 to 10 years of progressive GIS/RS experience in forestry, agriculture, or land-use change analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Forestry, Geography, Remote Sensing/Geospatial Science, or equivalent.
  • Expertise in Nature-based Solutions (NbS) and technical requirements of NbS standards.
  • Experience in the audit process for validation and verification of emissions reductions credits.
  • In-depth knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS platform (Desktop/Pro, Server, Enterprise/Portal).
  • Proficiency with QGIS and Google Earth Engine.
  • Technical skill in remote sensing data acquisition, interpretation, and processing of spaceborne, airborne, UAV, and LiDAR data.
  • Strong Python skills (including GDAL) and JavaScript experience.
  • Understanding of machine learning packages, AWS, and CI/CD tools.
  • Knowledge of GHG market standards, guidelines, and protocols.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly advanced Excel and Word formatting.
  • Fluency in English (required) or Spanish (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

  • Execute remote sensing analysis workflows including data acquisition, geometric and radiometric correction, classification, and map production.
  • Collect, generate, and manage spatial data at project, regional, and global scales.
  • Perform land cover classification and post-classification processing.
  • Develop and improve Python code for manipulating large raster datasets and complement the TerraCover, TerraChange, and Terrafolio software suites.
  • Execute land-use change modeling and GHG accounting at site and jurisdictional scales.
  • Develop technical aspects of AFOLU GHG projects and provide guidance on project methodologies and carbon monitoring.
  • Contribute to carbon feasibility studies, project documents, and monitoring reports.
  • Visit project sites in developing countries for data gathering and ground-truthing.
