Requirements
- Expert Python development experience with the ability to write production-grade code.
- Experience bringing products to market, ideally taking a product from 0 to 1.
- Experience re-imagining and refactoring systems and tooling for scalability.
- Hands-on experience using AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, Codex).
- Advocacy for strong software engineering practices, standards, and culture.
- Ownership mindset for problems from start to finish.
- Willingness to remain hands-on for at least the next 12 months.
- Ability to work comfortably across the stack and across disciplines.
- Experience working in a startup or small team (desirable).
- Confidence using AWS and Kubernetes (desirable).
- Experience with workflow orchestration systems like Temporal (desirable).
- Interest in venturing into Data Engineering, MLOps, or Platform Engineering (desirable).
Responsibilities
- Bring new products to market by productising existing service offerings.
- Re-imagine and refactor existing services and tooling to ensure they scale reliably.
- Bridge machine learning, product, and platform engineering capabilities by providing software 'glue'.
- Work with operations engineering and customer success to establish priorities and ensure operational excellence.
- Triage and resolve technical issues raised by customers and internal teams.
- Lead or contribute to post-mortems for SLA breaches, identifying root causes and driving improvements.
- Operate the AI decision engine to make targeted improvements to automation accuracy.
- Maintain runbooks and documentation to support internal agent operations teams.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
