Requirements
- Fully qualified chartered accountant (ACA or CA).
- Audit experience is required.
- Financial reporting and control experience gained outside of practice.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good understanding of key financial controls and the banking regulatory landscape.
- Ability to translate complex information into simple terms for diverse audiences.
- Highly comfortable leveraging data to automate reporting and drive efficiency.
- Self-starter capability to manage diverse tasks from reports to valuations.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and constantly evolving environment.
- Experience in a listed company or financial services regulated environment (nice to have).
- Familiarity with US reporting/SOX compliance (nice to have).
- Strong business partnering or commercial financial acumen (nice to have).
- Experience in ESG reporting or audit of sustainability information (nice to have).
Responsibilities
- Understand the business and products to write insightful management commentary.
- Work with engineers and data teams to automate production elements of financial reporting.
- Optimize accounting system features to minimize manual reporting tasks.
- Ensure financial reporting policies, procedures, and controls are up to date, relevant, and scalable.
- Support the full year-end process, from drafting the annual report to working with external auditors.
- Review new products and contracts to assess accounting impact and implement in banking and accounting platforms.
- Maintain and develop controls that protect financial data and balance sheet substantiation processes.
- Prepare monthly management and ad hoc reports with meaningful analysis of movements.
