Requirements
- Degree, Diploma, or Certificate from a school of nursing.
- Active nursing license in the State of Illinois.
- Clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Experience with data entry and typing.
- PC proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes.
- Auditing experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform accurate and efficient over-reads of medical record abstractions daily according to HEDIS specifications.
- Complete the IRR/over-read tool in the software application, documenting comments for errors found.
- Correct errors identified through the over-read process, including re-reviewing charts for similar errors.
- Identify and report abstraction errors and provide measure re-education to abstractors.
- Utilize software applications to enter data and update chase status.
- Meet with HEDIS Coordinator and QI Specialists to discuss HEDIS efforts, open issues, and IRR results.
- Maintain productivity levels as determined by the HEDIS Coordinator/QI Department.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements.
