Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in technical editing for web channels or publishing.
- Degree in English, Technical Writing, Publishing, or a related field.
- Degree in or experience with software engineering or another technical discipline preferred.
- Excellent copyediting and proofreading skills with strong command of American English.
- Strong research skills and intellectual curiosity regarding software development.
- Ability to evaluate structure, clarity, accuracy, tone, and audience fit.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with software professionals.
- Excellent organization and time management to balance multiple projects.
- Working laptop/PC, internet, and a back-up connection.
- Basic HTML knowledge is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Select, copyedit, and prepare technical site content for publication on DZone.
- Research trends in the SDLC to support article planning and content strategies.
- Update site pages daily and ensure content is timely and relevant.
- Monitor editorial inboxes, answer inquiries, and manage community relationships.
- Recommend and manage contributor-driven commercial content projects from kickoff to closeout.
- Vet, commission, and onboard contributors, providing clear feedback on outlines and drafts.
- Track project statuses, deadlines, and documentation within internal systems.
