Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2–3 years in an engineering management role.
- Experience leading teams building consumer-facing web products at scale.
- Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript stacks (React, Next.js, Node.js).
- Comfort with GraphQL and API-driven architectures.
- Strong track record of delivering reliable, high-quality, high-traffic consumer web experiences.
- Ability to review architecture proposals and provide meaningful code feedback.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience with agile delivery practices, sprint planning, and roadmap execution.
- Demonstrated ability to grow engineers through coaching and structured career development.
Responsibilities
- Lead, grow, and retain the team of engineers building and evolving APFM.com and related web properties.
- Own delivery for the Web platform by planning sprints, managing scope, and removing blockers.
- Partner with Product, Design, SEO, and Content teams to translate roadmap priorities into engineering work.
- Set and uphold engineering standards across code quality, performance, Core Web Vitals, accessibility, testing, observability, and security.
- Drive technical decisions in collaboration with principal and staff engineers.
- Build a culture of accountability and development through 1:1s, performance conversations, and career planning.
- Collaborate on shared infrastructure and cross-team dependencies.
- Contribute to hiring through sourcing, interviewing, and closing engineering talent.
