Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive experience in education leadership, including as an Executive Director, Superintendent, or CEO.
- Direct experience improving student outcomes at scale with accountability for academic performance across multiple regions.
- Proven ability to coach and develop senior leaders, ideally Executive Directors, with measurable impact.
- Strong track record of navigating complex stakeholder environments, including governance structures and executive teams.
- Demonstrated change leadership experience at a systems level, such as restructuring or major program redesign.
- Strong financial and operational fluency, including experience overseeing complex budgets and operating models.
- Deep commitment to KIPP’s mission, values, and student-centered educational solutions.
- Ability to travel extensively (31-40% of the time, or 65–90 days per year).
Responsibilities
- Hold Executive Directors (EDs) accountable for performance against anchor metrics through candid feedback and oversight.
- Serve as the primary instructional coach to EDs to develop their ability to lead high-performing school districts.
- Manage a cross-functional pod team to ensure regional support is coherent, coordinated, and connected to outcomes.
- Partner with a portfolio of regions to set priorities across student outcomes, talent health, and financial sustainability.
- Identify cross-regional patterns to scale effective practices and address systemic gaps across the network.
- Serve as a point of escalation for complex non-academic matters and maintain alignment across regional boards.
