Requirements
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admission in good-standing with the Bar of California
- Minimum 2+ years of litigation experience in both California state and federal courts
- Experience taking plaintiff and other fact witness depositions
- Experience handling written discovery, pleadings and motions and conducting legal research
- Effective communicator with excellent project management skills
- Proactive and collaborative mindset with strong sense of ownership and accountability
Responsibilities
- Assist litigation teams with all aspects of litigation in California state and federal courts, including motion practice, discovery, depositions and document review
- Prepare initial drafts of motions and pleadings, and assemble supporting documentation
- Conduct legal research, prepare case summaries, and assist with trial preparation
- Draft, review, and respond to discovery related documents such as requests for production, answers, demurrers, motions to strike, etc.
- Independently prepare for and take the lead on plaintiff and other fact witness depositions
- Assist with document review in Relativity and other review platforms
- Prepare fact summaries, case chronologies, and case analyses to support motions, hearings, and trial strategy
- Collaborate with supervising attorneys and colleagues to support litigation strategy and case management
