Requirements

  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with product managers, stakeholders, and customer-facing teams.
  • Comfortable operating within highly autonomous engineering cultures that emphasize ownership and accountability.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to facilitate discussions, resolve conflicts, and align teams around shared objectives.
  • Passion for open-source technologies, innovation, and developer-focused products.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a distributed backend engineering team, fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and growth-oriented environment.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop engineers through regular feedback, career development conversations, and ongoing performance support.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to drive architectural decisions, platform evolution, and backend scalability initiatives.
  • Work closely with product managers and cross-functional stakeholders to define roadmaps, priorities, delivery timelines, and measurable objectives.
  • Help teams remove blockers, improve workflows, and continuously refine engineering processes and delivery practices.
  • Ensure high standards for code quality, reliability, experimentation, and developer experience while balancing innovation with operational stability.
  • Contribute to technical discussions related to backend systems, application platforms, and distributed infrastructure, primarily within Go-based environments.
  • Promote collaboration across engineering, documentation, customer experience, and community teams to support product adoption and usability.
  • Support AI-assisted engineering practices, encouraging responsible use of modern coding assistants, automation, and productivity tools.
  • Foster an inclusive, transparent, and empowered team culture aligned with open-source and community-driven principles.
