Requirements
- 3+ years of linguistic experience on English into French and French into English patent translation.
- Minimum of BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of Machine Translation (MT).
- Native-level proficiency in French and fluent in English.
- Knowledge of European Patent Convention law.
- Familiarity with CAT tools and QA tools.
- Knowledge of the language services industry.
- Technical background (e.g., electricity, chemistry) is a plus.
- Self-motivating with ability to take ownership.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform English into French or French into English patent review tasks.
- Work with Quality and Squads to perform LQAs and drive the arbitration process.
- Maintain and update linguistic assets like glossaries and translation memories.
- Monitor translation spend to ensure it stays within budget.
- Support the Quality team in reviewing IRB forms and conducting RCAs.
- Support onboarding and assessment of new French legal suppliers/resources.
- Respond to queries from French resources related to legal production.
- Conduct monthly capacity planning for French legal resources.
