Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Java and the JVM ecosystem.
- Deep knowledge of memory management, garbage collection tuning, and performance profiling.
- Experience with concurrent programming in Java (threads, executors, reactive/asynchronous patterns).
- Experience with at least one big data processing framework such as Apache Spark, Flink, Beam, or Kafka Connect.
- Solid understanding of database fundamentals: SQL, data modeling, query optimization.
- Familiarity with OLAP/analytical databases.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Passion for open-source development.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a core contributor for ClickHouse's Data engineering ecosystem.
- Maintain language clients and major data connectors like Kafka, dbt, Spark, and Fivetran.
- Craft tools for Data Engineers to harness database speed and scale.
- Manage the full lifecycle of data framework integrations from database drivers to SDKs.
- Collaborate with the open-source community to influence the evolution of the core system.
- Set standards for performance, reliability, and developer experience in JVM integrations.
