Requirements
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field
- 3 years of experience (or 5 years in lieu of degree)
- Thorough knowledge of cost estimating in commercial building types
- Knowledge of construction types, means, and methods
- Understanding of regional market conditions
- Ability to adopt and utilize multiple software platforms
- Experience with CSI MasterFormat coding structures
- Experience with UniFormat coding structures
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Responsibilities
- Research and generate new items and CSI MasterFormat divisions including descriptions, scope, and costs
- Update existing unit costs, expanding and clarifying item descriptions
- Identify relationships between items, quantities, and costs to build assembly-based unit costs
- Evaluate, approve, or reject contractor-submitted items and costs
- Coordinate with contractors, field Account Managers, and client Project Managers to verify bid proposals
- Collaborate with estimators, architects, engineers, and project members
