Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of General Liability claims handling experience.
  • Commercial and multi-line insurance knowledge.
  • Ability to critically review claim files and make recommendations.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and detail skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of insurance processes.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer and office skills.
  • Ability to work extended hours when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Independently evaluate information on coverage, liability, and damages.
  • Manage countrywide litigation, legal budgets, and lawsuits through resolution.
  • Determine reporting for new loss claims.
  • Submit necessary information to agents or insurers for claim processing.
  • Analyze claim coverage with carriers to ensure accurate payments.
  • Assess eligibility status of denied claims.
  • Maintain relationships with insureds, brokers, and underwriters.
  • Manage claims and suspense systems for follow-ups.
  • Process departmental claims according to policy.
  • Travel to mediations and trials as needed.
