Requirements
- 2 years experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner
- Current Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license
- Experience in Addiction and Mental Health
- Experience working with adults in general mental health/SMI
- Experience working with patients ages 13+
- Knowledge of mental health and substance abuse dual-diagnoses
- Proficiency in treatment planning and comprehensive assessments
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR)
- Comfort with telehealth software and video communication
- Awareness of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 compliance
Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ mental and physical status based on presenting symptoms.
- Diagnose psychiatric disorders and mental health conditions.
- Conduct individual psychotherapy for patients with chronic or acute disorders.
- Order diagnostic testing including EKGs and lab work.
- Prescribe psychotropic medications and educate patients on risks and benefits.
- Monitor patient medication usage and treatment response.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to implement treatment plans.
- Maintain clinical documentation in EHR, including FMLA forms.
- Coordinate follow-up care and schedule appointments.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and national standards of care.
