Requirements

  • Proven expertise in Islamic teachings and faith-based guidance material development.
  • Deep knowledge of Fiqh, Qur'an, and Hadith regarding child protection and social wellbeing.
  • Experience working with Imams, Islamic scholars, and Muslim community leaders.
  • Strong understanding of child marriage prevention and social norms change contexts.
  • Excellent professional writing and facilitation skills.
  • Strong familiarity with the Kano state Muslim cultural context.
  • Ability to manage short turnaround times under pressure.
  • Commitment to ethical storytelling and safeguarding principles.

Responsibilities

  • Review program documents, safeguarding guidance, and relevant Nigerian laws regarding child protection.
  • Review Islamic teachings, Qur’anic verses, Hadith, and scholarly interpretations related to child wellbeing and rights.
  • Consult with religious leaders, traditional leaders, and safeguarding teams to validate theological accuracy.
  • Develop a user-friendly Sermon (Khutbah) and Discussion Guide.
  • Integrate core messages on child marriage, girls' education, and positive parenting.
  • Include facilitation approaches, discussion prompts, and community dialogue guidance.
  • Ensure safeguarding integration within the content.
  • Facilitate a validation workshop with stakeholders and revise materials based on feedback.
