Requirements
- Active CPA with a background in a Big 4 or national firm.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in technical accounting or financial reporting.
- Deep understanding of US GAAP principles and practices.
- Experience preparing GAAP financial statements from scratch.
- Track record in managing external auditors and accounting consultants.
- Capability to work with ambiguity and drive projects independently.
- Demonstrated experience using AI tools for accounting tasks.
- Strong communication skills for translating technical concepts.
- Ability to write scripts or automations to enhance productivity.
- High integrity and ownership in work responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Own technical accounting for audit and S-1 preparation, including revenue recognition and complex financing instruments.
- Lead the preparation of GAAP financial statements and footnote disclosures.
- Oversee the external audit process, ensuring readiness and compliance.
- Manage relationships with external technical accounting advisors.
- Collaborate with valuation specialists on intangible asset valuations.
- Partner with tax advisors for international accounting needs.
- Establish workflows, controls, and reporting standards for public-company operations.
- Document clear and scalable accounting policies.
- Leverage AI tools for research and workflow automation.
- Build and mentor the accounting team as the company scales.
