Senior Data Scientist (Remote from Kenya)

Fluency in English. Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with at least three years of experience. Strong programming experience with SQL and Python, including API integrations, authentication, pagination, and JSON data handling. Hands-on experience with large-scale data processing and storage technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Presto, and Spark. Proven experience with data visualization and dashboarding tools. Solid working knowledge of collaborative tools, including Google Workspace and advanced spreadsheet usage. Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment in selecting analytical approaches, and a continuous learning mindset. Familiarity with ethical data practices, privacy considerations, and responsible data management.

Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and data models. Develop and maintain self-service dashboards and reports. Analyze trends and patterns across multiple datasets to surface actionable insights. Define and improve data processes, including ETL workflows, aggregation, and storage. Collaborate with cross-functional data and technology teams to align metrics, methodologies, and reporting standards. Proactively identify gaps, requirements, and opportunities to strengthen and evolve the broader data ecosystem.
