Backend Engineer, Node.js/Typescript

Strong proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript/JavaScript best practices Experience in at least one other server-side language SQL guru, particularly with PostgreSQL Solid grasp of OOP and design patterns Experience in designing systems for scalability Proven expertise in optimizing systems for large transaction volumes Skilled in building APIs, including input validation, JWT tokens, and ensuring security & scalability through queue-based systems At least 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer Excel in designing, coding, testing, and maintaining applications Excel in a remote-first environment with proactive communication and strong asynchronous collaboration skills Take ownership of projects while excelling in team environments Clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Solve customer problems with coding superpowers Take a business-focused approach to software development

Work closely with Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, Designers, and QA professionals Participate in Product Planning from discovery to deployment Develop robust new features, APIs, and continuously improve products Help find and fix bugs at 'Deel Speed' Ensure top-tier products and services through quality engineering
