Requirements
- Built infrastructure at a slightly later stage than Ashby is at
- Knows how to deal with millions of data points
- Seen great (or not great) infrastructure make or break customer experience
- Automated everything from provisioning to monitoring and release process
- Can build systems that an engineer would like to work with
- Extremely comfortable evaluating risk
- Doesn't take shortcuts
- Cares about what they do and the team they do it with
- Makes own decisions on what is the best paved road to build
- Codes and is responsible for the application at a platform level
- Prioritizes written communication
Responsibilities
- Optimize homegrown ultra-dynamic recruiting DSL-to-SQL compiler
- Create automated guardrails for security and privacy of customer data
- Help developers ship features fast through canary deploys, gradual rollouts and feature flags
- Define SLOs and implement corresponding SLIs
- Ensure all communication with external services supports retries and circuit-breakers
- Implement infrastructure to support an event-driven architecture and data warehouse
- Own projects end-to-end
- Debug thorny issues
- Build a future-proof platform that can withstand scale
- Act as a Swiss army knife for infrastructure updates, security enforcements, database optimization, Kubernetes debugging, and digging through Typescript traces
