Requirements:
  • Degree level education in an engineering, safety or relevant technical discipline is required.
  • Requires experience including leadership of transportation operations and appreciable experience working at the corporate level for a multinational company.
  • Must have experience developing and implementing corporate-wide standards and processes.
  • Must have experience leading broad networks of technical professionals.
  • Expert technical knowledge in Hazard identification and risk assessment methodologies, Assessment, selection, and implementation of vehicle safety technologies, Motor vehicle safety design specifications, Car Safety Assessment Programs such as, but not limited to, NCAP and IIHS., Driver assessment methods and defensive driver training methods, Fatigue management methods, including state-of-the-art technology, Journey management practices, tools and monitoring, Assessment, selection, and implementation of an In-Vehicle Monitoring System (IVMS)/Telematics program, Driving safety analytics and using insights to propose strategic decisions and Application of U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Support development and implementation of processes and standards to systematically identify safety hazards, assess risk, and implement risk reduction measures to achieve fatality-free operations
  • Align and integrate EHS transportation program requirements with the GE Vernova Management System.
  • Respond directly to requests from the Business Units (BU), works directly with BU EHS Leaders and other functional leaders, providing expert advice, interpretation, coaching and mentoring.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and deliver work process improvement opportunities.
  • Work with the BUs to perform gap assessments and develop mitigation plans as required.
  • Intervene where appropriate to ensure personal safety risks are managed appropriately.
  • Review and evaluate standard requirements deviation and implementation extension requests from the BUs.
  • Monitor the health of the transportation safety program through metrics, KPI’s and trend analysis.
  • Recommend strategy, tactics and/or interventions required to improve program performance.
  • Lead development and deployment strategy for driver training and EHS function competencies related to transportation safety.
  • Benchmark internal and external performance to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Actively seek and share learning from internal and external sources with the BUs.
  • Serve as GE Vernova representative on external NGO’s such as International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP), Network of Employers for Traffic Safety (NETS), and the National Safety Council (NSC), among others.
  • Develop relevant audit and self-verification protocols to assess transportation program performance.
  • Participate in audits of BUs.
  • Lead or participate in the investigation of transportation events.
  • Work collaboratively with Fleet Operations to implement telematics/IVMS and supports Fleet Operations initiatives.
  • Work with the Security Risk and Crisis Management team to ensure physical security and geopolitical risks are managed appropriately, worldwide.
  • Provide input to transportation contractor qualification criteria and participates in review process as needed.
  • Work with Sustainability team for issues such as human rights, vehicle emissions, carbon reduction, electric vehicles, etc.
