Requirements:
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or management role.
  • Deep technical expertise in the NetSuite platform, including architecture, customizations, and development tools.
  • Proven experience leading distributed engineering teams, ideally within the APAC region and across global locations.
  • Proven experience with automated testing strategies including unit testing (e.g. Jest), and automated functional testing technologies.
  • Strong systems-thinking mindset with demonstrated ability to lead in domains where deep product expertise must be learned on the job. Experience navigating regulated domains (e.g., payments, payroll, fintech, ERP)
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.) and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and resources in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery, ideally within the fintech sector.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of software engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent across the APAC region.
  • Manage and support engineering team members based in other global locations, ensuring alignment with company goals and standards.
  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of NetSuite-based applications, utilizing the SuiteCloud platform and other technologies, following best practices, security and regulatory standards, and high-quality deliverables.
  • Quickly ramp up on complex compliance-heavy domains such as payroll, ensuring that technical decisions align with the latest regulatory requirements and risk tolerance.
  • Lead architecture reviews, provide technical guidance and hands-on support where needed, leveraging your deep engineering pedigree.
  • Conduct code reviews and performance evaluations, offering constructive feedback to elevate team capabilities.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure on-time, in-scope delivery of solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams-including Product, Customer Success, and Sales-to translate client requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • Serve as a technical point of contact for key clients in the APAC region, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
  • Lead and prioritize technical debt remediation and architectural improvements while maintaining business continuity in payroll and payments systems.
  • Stay abreast of NetSuite platform advancements and broader industry trends to drive ongoing innovation within the team.
  • Champion the adoption of modern engineering practices, tools (including GenAI tools when possible), and methodologies.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to optimize team performance and project outcomes.
