Requirements:

• Associate’s degree in healthcare related field OR relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of Associate's degree.
• 1 year of knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and/or medical terminology.
• 1 year of experience understanding and interpreting medical and treatment information.
• Certified Oncology Data Specialist (ODS).

Responsibilities:

• Perform primary data abstraction duties for clinical measures and registries while ensuring high levels of abstraction accuracy and ensure alignment with organizational quality standards. (65%)
• Screening disease indices, pathology reports, radiology reports, and other clinical documents to identify reportable cancer cases.
• Maintain cancer registry database which may include loading import files, generating and working data status reports in compliance with regulatory requirements and timeframes as well as assisting in reporting to state registries as needed. (10%)
• Participates in educational opportunities annually to stay informed of ongoing changes and updates. (10%)
• Other duties as assigned or requested.
