- Performs comprehensive health assessments of pulmonary rehab patients, including physical fitness, medical history, lifestyle habits, and psychological wellbeing.
- Monitors patients' progress and adjust rehabilitation plans as needed, tracking metrics such as exercise tolerance, heart rate, and blood pressure.
- Performs patient assessment & assessment for therapy. Verifies orders and administers aerosolized medication, bronchial hygiene, volume expansion, & oxygen.
- Teaches and promotes respiratory muscle training, diaphragm and pursed-lip breathing. Performs cardiac EKG monitoring.
- Develops individual treatment plan including exercise prescription.
- Works closely with a multidisciplinary team, including pulmonologists, nurses, exercise physiologists, physical therapists, and dietitians, to ensure comprehensive care for each patient.
- Offers motivation and emotional support to patients, addressing any concerns or barriers to following their rehabilitation plan.
- Utilizes cognitive-behavioral strategies to help patients overcome challenges, such as anxiety, depression, or lack of motivation.
- Provides education on health, nutrition, and stress management, promoting healthy behaviors.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, progress, and communication.
