Requirements
- Bring commercial or civil construction estimating experience; 10+ years is preferred, though strong mid-level candidates may be considered.
- Have extensive experience with quantity takeoffs, cost estimation, subcontractor bidding, and commercial bid preparation.
- Have a background in commercial construction, civil engineering, concrete work, structural steel buildings, excavation, or ground-up construction.
- Have an engineering, construction management, or related educational background (preferred).
- Be proficient in construction estimating software, particularly Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel.
- Have familiarity with HeavyBid, RSMeans, Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Primavera P6/Pro; these are an advantage.
- Have experience working with US-based construction companies, projects, and industry standards.
- Be able to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Understand subcontractor coordination, bid solicitation, and construction cost management.
- Be fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Be organized and attentive to detail, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Be able to solve problems proactively and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate accountability, ownership, and leadership when coordinating with subcontractors and project stakeholders.
- Be available full-time and commit exclusively to the position.
- Be available Monday through Friday during US Eastern Time business hours.
Responsibilities
- Manage commercial construction estimating workflows and perform detailed material and quantity takeoffs.
- Prepare project estimates, cost breakdowns, and customer-facing bid packages.
- Solicit, review, compare, and coordinate subcontractor bids.
- Estimate material, labor, equipment, and overall project costs for commercial and civil projects.
- Develop estimates for concrete work, structural steel buildings, ground-up construction, and excavation.
- Review construction drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation.
- Use estimating and construction software including Bluebeam, Excel, Revit, Primavera P6/Pro, RSMeans, HeavyBid, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
- Communicate with the owner, subcontractors, and other stakeholders throughout the bidding process.
- Maintain estimating records, bid documentation, cost breakdowns, and project files; manage multiple estimates and deadlines.
- Identify project risks, pricing discrepancies, and cost-related challenges; potentially support coordination, scheduling, and project tracking.
