Requirements
- Bring strong software engineering skills.
- Have substantial hands-on experience deploying and operating production systems.
- Have strong programming skills in languages such as Python or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Have experience building, deploying, and operating production systems in cloud environments.
- Have experience using infrastructure as code, such as Terraform.
- Have experience in several areas such as CI/CD, containers and orchestration, networking, databases, observability, or developer tooling.
- Have experience using data, telemetry, and metrics to investigate technical problems and make decisions.
- Be familiar with modern AI-assisted development tools and understand their capabilities, limitations, and appropriate use.
- Be comfortable working in unfamiliar systems and bringing them to a sustainable state.
- Be able to work across disciplines and translate between software, infrastructure, and operational concerns.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and operate software and systems supporting Firefox engineering.
- Contribute to developer tooling, CI/CD, workflow automation, and AI-assisted development tools.
- Own complex technical problems across software, cloud, and operational layers.
- Improve reliability, performance, observability, and cost efficiency.
- Work with Firefox Engineering, Cloud Engineering, IT, and other teams to solve cross-functional problems.
- Use telemetry, metrics, and data analysis to investigate problems and guide engineering decisions.
- Contribute to architecture and technical strategy.
- Identify recurring problems and develop solutions that can be applied across teams.
- Contribute to the broader open-source ecosystem.
