Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or have equivalent practical experience.
- Have at least 8 years of relevant experience supporting OpenStack environments with Ironic.
- Understand the PXE boot process, including host configuration, BIOS, network cards, VLANs, switch port settings, and cabling.
- Know how to troubleshoot PXE boot services, including DHCP/DNSMASQ, TFTP, HTTP, and iSCSI.
- Be familiar with OpenStack services and their interactions, including Nova, Nova Placement, Neutron, Glance, Cinder, and Ironic.
- Be able to troubleshoot across OpenStack applications and understand deployment processes, service dependencies, and operational sequencing.
- Be proficient in Python programming and familiar with AI-powered DevOps tools.
- Have experience supporting MySQL, RabbitMQ, Ceph, HAProxy, and Keepalived.
- Have practical experience with configuration and maintenance tools such as Ansible, GitLab, Jenkins, Grafana, Datadog, and Elasticsearch.
- Preferred: experience with OpenStack Ironic, ML2, and bare-metal provisioning.
- Preferred: experience with containerized OpenStack environments and familiarity with large-scale R&D and QA environments or product bring-up.
- Preferred: background in Linux, RHEL, Ansible, Bash, Python, Jenkins, and REST APIs.
Responsibilities
- Support the OpenStack Team Operations queue across infrastructure and cloud operations environments.
- Develop, maintain, and support OpenStack services and cloud-based operations.
- Monitor systems, troubleshoot issues, triage bugs, and resolve problems.
- Investigate key performance indicators, identify infrastructure issues, and contribute to root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with SRE, PaaS, image, infrastructure, and application engineering teams on code development and product launch strategies.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across multi-site OpenStack regional deployments.
- Work with systems and software engineering, data center operations, and external vendors to deliver infrastructure platforms from concept through deployment.
- Improve deployment quality, platform stability, and operational efficiency.
