Requirements
- Have a BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
- Have 5+ years owning and operating cloud infrastructure in a customer-facing environment with little tolerance for downtime.
- Have deep hands-on experience with AWS and cloud operations.
- Have used infrastructure as code, such as Pulumi or Terraform, and prefer making changes through code.
- Have operated high-throughput, data-intensive distributed systems in production, such as Druid, MongoDB, or Airflow.
- Understand scalability, fault tolerance, consistency trade-offs, and performance tuning.
- Be fluent in Python or TypeScript/Node.js for automation and tooling, and be able to read and work in Java services.
- Design SLOs, dashboards, and alerts that surface issues early and make pages actionable.
- Handle on-call incidents and blameless postmortems, and address root causes.
- Have experience with CI/CD, tooling, and paved paths that improve developer productivity.
- Have business-level fluency to read, write, and speak in English.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve AWS cloud infrastructure for Convert products, including compute, serverless, networking, and cloud operations.
- Build and maintain the infrastructure-as-code foundation in Pulumi and evolve shared patterns and components.
- Improve scalability, reliability, and low-latency performance for distributed, event-driven systems and Druid, MongoDB, and Airflow workloads.
- Improve dashboards, alerts, and SLOs for owned systems so issues surface early and on-call pages are actionable.
- Lead projects from design through launch to advance team and engineering organization goals.
- Write and review maintainable, tested, performant code and automation.
- Build AI-powered infrastructure automation, including policy-as-code, drift detection, and LLM-assisted runbook generation.
- Help the team build reliable systems.
