Requirements
- Demonstrate fluency in both Mixteco and English.
- Have experience providing accurate, complete, and clear interpretation in medical, legal, and community settings.
- Interpret orally between Mixteco and English in both directions.
- Work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Meet the communication needs of medical professionals, patients, government agencies, community organizations, and internal stakeholders.
- Have formal interpreter training and/or relevant professional experience.
- Be willing to obtain required medical clearances, including vaccination or immunization records and background checks, as necessary.
- Have a reliable phone, a laptop or desktop computer, and a stable high-speed internet connection.
- Have access to a quiet, private workspace for remote assignments.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional interpreting services primarily in healthcare settings.
- Interpret orally between Mixteco and English in both directions.
- Deliver accurate, complete, and clear interpretation with fidelity to the original communication.
- Support communication needs of medical professionals, patients, government agencies, community organizations, and internal stakeholders.
- Conduct assignments through phone or Zoom.
