Requirements
- At least 6 years of professional experience in full-stack or backend software development.
- Production experience with Python, Django, and Django REST Framework.
- Experience developing production applications with React and TypeScript.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Expertise in PostgreSQL, including relational data modeling, schema design, and database migrations.
- Experience designing, developing, documenting, and integrating REST APIs.
- Familiarity with asynchronous processing and background task management using technologies such as Celery and Redis.
- Automated testing experience, including unit testing with pytest and end-to-end testing with Playwright or similar frameworks.
- Experience deploying containerized applications in cloud environments; Microsoft Azure is preferred.
- Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot, including writing specifications and evaluating generated code.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills for collaboration with international clients and business stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, own end-to-end features, and translate complex requirements into maintainable technical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications using Python, Django, Django REST Framework, React, and TypeScript.
- Build and document versioned REST APIs for internal services, external systems, and development teams.
- Design data models, database schemas, and migrations using PostgreSQL.
- Implement calculation-heavy business logic, including insurance rating and renewal rules, with comprehensive automated testing.
- Integrate applications with third-party APIs, claims administration platforms, and enterprise data lakehouses.
- Develop integration workflows that account for API rate limits, retries, asynchronous processing, and audit trails.
- Contribute to architecture and technical decisions across related projects and shared services.
- Deploy and support containerized applications in cloud environments, primarily using Azure.
- Collaborate with client IT and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and validate functionality.
- Maintain engineering standards through testing, code reviews, technical documentation, and responsible use of AI-assisted development tools.
