Requirements
- Have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Have 4+ years of professional backend engineering experience, including running services in production.
- Be strong in Java, Go, or another modern backend language.
- Understand microservices, REST/gRPC APIs, event-driven design, and reliability basics.
- Have hands-on experience with relational databases and query tuning.
- Have hands-on experience with Redis caching and Kafka messaging.
- Have experience with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS, containers, and CI/CD.
- Experience in capital markets, brokerage, payments, or another regulated, high-traffic environment is a strong plus.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs for stock trading and portfolio features.
- Deliver features from technical design to production, including tests, monitoring, and alerting.
- Handle financial processes, quantities, and prices accurately, with safe retries and clear audit trails.
- Integrate with internal systems and external parties, including exchange, clearing, and bank connections.
- Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
- Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and ship lasting fixes.
- Improve performance and reliability, especially around market open and peak trading volume.
- Work with Product, Operations, and Compliance to turn requirements into reliable solutions.
