Requirements
- Have 5+ years of professional software development experience with meaningful exposure to both frontend and backend work.
- Be proficient in at least one backend language: Python, Java, or Kotlin.
- Have experience with RESTful API design.
- Have strong SQL proficiency.
- Have experience with JavaScript and React or a similar modern framework.
- Be familiar with TypeScript, Git, and frontend and backend testing frameworks.
- Have hands-on experience with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code or Cursor.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or have equivalent practical experience.
- Collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teammates.
- Bonus: Have proficiency with microservices architecture or micro-frontend infrastructure.
- Bonus: Have experience with observability tooling such as logging, metrics, or tracing.
- Bonus: Have built product features integrating LLMs or AI capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Partner with product, UX, engineering, QA, and customers to define and validate features end-to-end.
- Design and implement REST API endpoints and microservices using Python with FastAPI or Java or Kotlin with Vert.x, backed by PostgreSQL.
- Build user-facing experiences with JavaScript or TypeScript and React.
- Write unit tests and participate in code reviews to maintain codebase quality.
- Own builds and deployments to staging and production using Docker, GitLab, and Kubernetes.
- Identify, prioritize, and resolve bugs and technical debt across the stack.
- Share knowledge through mentoring, training, and interviewing future teammates.
- Contribute to AI-driven engineering tools that improve quality and efficiency.
