Requirements
- Have 5+ years of professional software development experience, including ownership of production systems.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Have experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React and Angular.
- Bring deep experience building and maintaining server-side applications in Java.
- Have hands-on experience with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot, including code generation, refactoring, test development, and debugging.
- Be able to validate AI-assisted outputs and take responsibility for their correctness.
- Have experience with Docker and containerized application development.
- Understand the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and DevOps best practices, with a track record of improving engineering processes.
- Know backend API systems, including RESTful APIs, JSON, HTTP, and microservice architectures.
- Be comfortable with Git-based workflows, cross-stack debugging, and shell scripting.
- Demonstrate the ability to mentor engineers and lead technical discussions.
- Be available to participate in an on-call rotation.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain full-stack functionality across frontend applications and backend API services.
- Own features and systems through technical design, implementation, release, production support, and incident response.
- Lead architecture discussions and make technical decisions that balance delivery speed, reliability, and maintainability.
- Integrate AI-assisted development tools into workflows for implementation, testing, and debugging, while maintaining code quality.
- Establish safe practices and review standards for AI-generated code.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and design feedback.
- Collaborate with product owners and QA teams to scope, prioritize, and deliver software.
- Improve technical planning, deployment pipelines, development tooling, monitoring, and debugging.
- Promote unit and integration testing practices.
- Participate in on-call rotations, lead incident response when required, and follow through on postmortem actions.
