Requirements
- Have 5+ years of professional software development experience, including ownership of production systems.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks such as React and Angular.
- Bring deep experience building and maintaining server-side applications in Java.
- Have hands-on experience regularly using AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot, validating their output and owning its correctness.
- Have experience with Docker and containerized application development.
- Have strong knowledge of SDLC and DevOps best practices, with a track record of improving them.
- Understand backend API systems, including RESTful APIs, JSON, HTTP, and microservice architecture.
- Be comfortable with Git-based workflows, debugging across the stack, and shell scripting.
- Demonstrate the ability to mentor engineers and lead technical discussions.
- Be available to participate in an on-call rotation.
- Be authorized to work in the United States and reside in the United States.
- Preferred: Have familiarity with telecom or CPaaS systems, including SMS, SIP, and voice calling.
- Preferred: Have experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Preferred: Have experience building internal tooling or agents.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain full-stack functionality across frontend applications and backend API services.
- Own features and systems from technical design through implementation, release, production support, and incident response.
- Lead architecture discussions and make pragmatic decisions balancing delivery speed, reliability, and maintainability.
- Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate implementation, testing, and debugging, and help establish safe usage and review standards for AI-generated code.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and design feedback.
- Collaborate with product owners and QA to scope and deliver performant, maintainable software.
- Drive technical planning and improve deployment pipelines, tooling, monitoring, debugging, and unit and integration testing.
- Participate in on-call rotations, lead incident response, and drive postmortem follow-through.
