Requirements
- Hold a JD from an ABA-approved school.
- Maintain an active Connecticut Bar license.
- Have 8+ years of solid litigation experience, including litigation support, deposition, and trial preparation.
- Be able to manage full case handling responsibilities, including all facets of discovery and trial.
- Bring meaningful trial experience and the ability to handle complex litigation independently.
- Have Connecticut litigation experience and knowledge of local courts, procedures, and practice.
- Insurance defense experience is preferred.
- Have experience handling time management systems.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Develop compelling case themes.
- Independently handle court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials.
- Manage case strategy, discovery, substantive motion practice, experts, exposure evaluation, mediation preparation, and trial preparation.
- Communicate routinely with clients and carriers.
- Cultivate relationships with existing and future clients.
- Work as part of a team with attorneys at all experience levels.
- Provide leadership and direction to less experienced attorneys.
