Requirements
- Have 5+ years of professional software engineering, infrastructure engineering, or related experience.
- Bring strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building production backend systems in Python or similar object-oriented programming languages.
- Have strong experience with Linux in production environments.
- Have experience building APIs, tooling, or automation for managing infrastructure at scale.
- Be familiar with containerization and orchestration concepts.
- Understand HPC and bare-metal infrastructure fundamentals, including provisioning and out-of-band management.
- Be able to navigate ambiguity and make pragmatic architecture decisions for long-term reliability and scale.
- Have experience in a startup or other fast-paced environment with ownership and autonomy.
- Experience with bare-metal troubleshooting and provisioning technologies such as PXE/iPXE, BMC, Redfish, or IPMI, particularly with Dell hardware, is ideal.
- Experience with GPU servers, network equipment, high-performance storage systems, or AI/ML or HPC infrastructure at scale is ideal.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate production services, APIs, tooling, and automation for large-scale bare-metal and GPU infrastructure.
- Build systems for infrastructure provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
- Develop automation to reduce manual operations and improve the consistency and scalability of infrastructure management.
- Build tools and interfaces for programmatic interaction with physical infrastructure.
- Automate server discovery, provisioning, configuration, validation, and capacity deployment across compute fleets.
- Integrate software and automation with hardware management and provisioning systems.
- Build telemetry, logging, and observability capabilities for infrastructure health.
- Develop tools to identify, diagnose, and respond to infrastructure and hardware issues.
- Partner with networking, infrastructure operations, data center, and platform teams to define requirements and build capabilities.
- Contribute to architecture, technical direction, design documents, technical documentation, and engineering best practices.
