Requirements
- Have proven experience as a Business Analyst on data-centric initiatives such as data platforms, data warehouses, or data migration projects.
- Demonstrate experience defining low-level data mapping logic and technical business rules.
- Have extensive experience writing and structuring user stories and acceptance criteria in Jira.
- Be able to read, query, and reason about complex data models, schemas, and tabular structures using SQL.
- Bring communication and stakeholder management skills to translate between commercial Finance teams and technical delivery squads.
- Have hands-on experience in iterative Agile delivery teams.
- Be available for a full-time, six-month freelance contract with an immediate or near-term start.
- Databricks Lakehouse or similar cloud data environment familiarity is a plus.
- Corporate finance, revenue accounting, financial reconciliations, or journal generation knowledge is a plus.
- Experience with loyalty programmes, airline systems, or travel industry data structures is a plus.
- Understanding of event-driven architectures and streaming data sources is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Define detailed data requirements for a Databricks-based platform with Finance product teams and technical architects.
- Specify testable business logic for calculations, revenue allocations, transaction treatment, and accounting journal outputs.
- Produce source-to-target mappings for field definitions, transformations, and reference data structures.
- Write Jira user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria for engineers and testers.
- Maintain traceability from business objectives through technical mappings and specification updates.
- Identify data anomalies, edge cases, and scope gaps, and present potential solutions and business impact assessments.
- Collaborate with product managers, data engineers, architects, and quality engineers to validate pipelines against specifications.
- Facilitate solution walkthroughs and formal sign-offs with Finance stakeholders and business owners.
