Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 9+ years of professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, SRE, or infrastructure engineering, including technical leadership.
- Experience with governance processes, technical standards, formal change management, or shared enterprise services.
- Strong hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Linux, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
- Experience managing infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or similar tools.
- Experience designing and operating workloads in a cloud environment; AWS preferred, with GCP or Azure considered.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, or CloudWatch.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation with Bash, Python, or Go.
- Working knowledge of databases and SQL.
- Experience troubleshooting production systems, performance tuning, and leading root cause analysis.
- Understanding of DevSecOps practices and secure infrastructure principles.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, build, and evolution of secure, scalable cloud platforms for federal mission needs.
- Own cloud infrastructure-as-code standards and implementation using Terraform or similar tools.
- Design, automate, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for safe, repeatable software delivery.
- Define and track reliability practices, including SLIs, SLOs, monitoring, alerting, and observability.
- Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and production postmortems, and drive lasting fixes.
- Build automation to reduce manual work, improve resilience, and speed delivery.
- Design runbooks and procedures for troubleshooting, maintenance, and disaster recovery.
- Evaluate emerging technologies through prototypes and proofs of concept.
- Partner with development, architecture, security, and product teams on production-ready solutions.
- Lead technical discussions and architecture reviews, set platform standards, and mentor engineers.
