Requirements
- Have 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Bring strong full-stack engineering experience with front-end depth.
- Have production experience with TypeScript and React; Next.js and mobile experience are preferred.
- Have backend experience designing APIs and services.
- Have experience with relational databases and running systems in the cloud.
- Have payment experience with processor integrations, payment lifecycles, webhooks, refunds, and disputes.
- Have experience building payment UIs with hosted fields and tokenization that keep card data out of your code.
- Have experience with PCI-compliant payment flows.
- Have fraud prevention experience, such as risk rules, scoring, 3DS, device signals, or identity checks.
- Be comfortable using SQL to measure fraud and conversion and monitor rollouts.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship payment features across backend services and web and mobile checkout.
- Build checkout and payment screens, including payment method selection, 3D Secure routing, and error and decline handling.
- Work on real-time fraud scoring, risk rules, device signals, and identity checks.
- Help prevent and respond to disputes and chargebacks, automate evidence, and feed outcomes into fraud decisions.
- Implement safe retries, webhook processing, monitoring, and feature-flagged rollouts for payment flows.
- Lead design discussions, raise the code review bar, and mentor other engineers.
