Requirements
- Hold a JD from an ABA-approved school.
- Be licensed in the State of California.
- Have 8+ years of solid litigation experience, including litigation support, depositions, and trial preparation.
- Have 3+ years of medical malpractice experience or significant medical malpractice exposure.
- Be able to manage full case-handling responsibilities, including all facets of discovery and trial.
- Have experience handling insurance defense matters (preferred).
- Have experience with time management systems.
- Be proficient in MS Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Be able to think and act independently with minimal supervision.
- Have outstanding listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop case themes.
- Independently handle court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials.
- Manage sophisticated matters, competing deadlines, discovery, and trial preparation.
- Develop and execute case strategy.
- Work with medical experts.
- Handle substantive motion practice.
- Communicate with clients and carriers.
- Evaluate exposure and move cases toward resolution or trial.
- Cultivate relationships with existing and future clients.
- Provide leadership and direction to less experienced attorneys.
