Experience: 8+ years of experience; a relevant PhD can count for up to 2 YOE.

Have 8+ years of experience researching, designing, deploying, and operating large-scale, real-time machine learning systems; a relevant PhD can count for up to 2 years of experience.
Have strong Python skills and experience writing production-quality code.
Have experience building and evaluating models for tabular classification problems.
Have experience with gradient-boosted decision trees such as LightGBM or XGBoost and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
Have experience with distributed data processing or parallel compute frameworks such as Spark or Ray.
Have experience with ML lifecycle tooling for training orchestration, experimentation, and model monitoring, such as Kubeflow, Airflow, or MLflow.
Be proficient in using AI-powered developer tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor.
Bring strong engineering skills and the ability to provide hands-on technical leadership while working with code and architecture.
Have strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.

Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long time scale and connect it to critical business projects.
Collaborate with ML Platform, product, engineering, and risk leadership to shape long-term modeling capabilities for international expansion.
Define and advocate for technical solutions and operational processes.
Set code review and design standards to foster quality and ownership.
Provide feedback and guidance to develop team talent and lead by example.
