Requirements
- Hold a master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or Operations Research.
- For M.S. holders, have 5+ years of industry experience in applied science or data science roles.
- For Ph.D. holders, have 4+ years of industry experience in applied science or data science roles.
- Demonstrate expertise querying relational databases with SQL.
- Be proficient in a programming language such as R or Python.
- Have a deep understanding of online experimentation, including A/B testing.
- Have expertise in causal inference and statistical techniques.
- Demonstrate technical communication and data storytelling skills, including explaining complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Be able to address ambiguous problems by creating an action plan, gathering feedback, and iterating.
Responsibilities
- Develop action-oriented product insights through observational causal analysis and experiment meta-analysis, and communicate recommendations to stakeholders up to the C-suite.
- Guide the design, execution, and analysis of A/B tests to improve experimentation practices and maximize learning.
- Create ETLs, tables, dashboards, and self-serve tools for data scientists and cross-functional partners.
- Design, evaluate, and measure team-level KPIs for quarterly goal setting and demonstrating team impact.
- Engage stakeholders to gather feedback, share progress, and align data science work with business goals and outcomes.
- Mentor junior data scientists and business partners in data science practices and methods.
