Requirements
- Hold an advanced degree (master’s or Ph.D.) in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or Operations Research.
- M.S. holders must have 5+ years of industry experience in applied science or data science roles.
- Ph.D. holders must have 4+ years of industry experience in applied science or data science roles.
- Have expertise querying relational databases using SQL.
- Have expertise in a programming language such as R or Python.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of online experimentation, including A/B testing.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of causal inference and statistical techniques.
- Have strong technical communication and data storytelling skills, including the ability to discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Be able to tackle ambiguous problems by creating an action plan, gathering feedback, and iterating.
Responsibilities
- Develop action-oriented insights through observational causal analysis and experiment meta-analysis, and communicate recommendations to stakeholders up to the C-suite.
- Guide the design, execution, and analysis of A/B tests to improve experimentation practices and maximize learnings.
- Create ETLs, tables, dashboards, and self-serve tools for data scientists and cross-functional partners.
- Design, evaluate, and measure team-level KPIs for quarterly goal setting and demonstrating team impact.
- Engage stakeholders to gather feedback, share progress, and align data science work with business goals and outcomes.
- Mentor junior data scientists and business partners in data science best practices and methods.
